Urban Homesteading Workshops-Chicks in the City II: Coop Design and Building

Saturday, March 12th

10:00 am-12:00 pm, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm

Join us for either the morning or afternoon session and learn about housing your city chickens.  Children ages 4 through 9 can help us paint one of the chicken tractors built and donated by local Eagle Scout Jamie McClement, meet some baby chicks from a nearby farm, and feed our flock of laying hens.  Grownups and children ages 10 and older can help us build a portable coop for our Green Acres Gala weekend fundraiser. Whether or not you joined us for the basic chicken workshop in February, you can learn about housing a small flock of city chicks. We will be using power tools with adults and children ages 10 and up. Younger children will have a concurrent program.  Please register by emailing efarlow@gcmuseum.com or call Eleanor at 574-2898 ext. 317
