Summer Camp Internships 2015

The Edible Schoolyard Greensboro empowers kids and families to cultivate healthy communities through food education.  Interns will spend four or five weeks immersed in this unique atmosphere assisting garden and kitchen staff to execute our summer camp’s Seed to Table Programming. There are two positions available for each session:

  • First Session: June 8th – July 17th (No Camp June 19th – 3rd)
  • Second Session: July 20th – August 14th
  • Interns may also elect to participate in both sessions

Interns will:

  • Implement gardening and cooking programming for preschool – 8th graders
  • Be responsible for groups of up to 10 children at time
  • Document with photo and video
  • Work 30 hours a week for five weeks (Session 1) or four weeks (Session 2) during sessions as listed above

Qualifications:

  • Experience and love of working with children of varying ages
  • Excitement about The Edible Schoolyard’s mission
  • High school graduate
  • Quick learner and independent thinker
  • Experience with gardening or cooking is strongly preferred, but not required

Compensation:

  • Unpaid
  • Fresh garden food, including eggs
