Summer Camp Internships 2017


The Edible Schoolyard Greensboro empowers kids and families to cultivate healthy communities through food education.  Interns will spend four or five weeks immersed in this unique atmosphere assisting garden and kitchen staff to execute our summer camp’s Seed to Table Programming. There are two positions available for each session:

  • First Session: June 5th – 30th
  • Second Session: July 10th – August 11th
  • Interns may also elect to participate in both sessions


  • Assist with the implementation of garden and cooking programming for preK-8th graders
  • Supervise groups of 5-10 children in the garden, kitchen, and/or museum floor
  • Serve as a positive role model for campers through cheerful attitude, loving and compassionate demeanor, ability to be flexible, and strong work ethic
  • Facilitate opportunities for informal learning and skill-building
  • Work 30 hours a week for 4 weeks (Session 1) or 5 weeks (Session 2) during sessions listed above


Experience and love of working with children of varying ages
Excitement about The Edible Schoolyard’s mission
High school graduate
Quick learner and independent thinker
Experience with gardening or cooking is strongly preferred, but not required


Fresh garden food and eggs, as available seasonally
