6/16 Adult Class:  Cajun Country Shrimp Boil

Join us for a Cajun Country Shrimp Boil with Jay Pierce, Executive Chef of the Marshall Free House. You will enjoy shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, garlic, and potatoes cooked in a big pot and served family-style to be eaten with the hands. Expect lots of conversation, hands-on opportunities, and tips and quips from Jay. He’ll even whip up some snacks and lemon chess pie with a saltine cracker crust.

7/14 Adult Class: Preserving Summer: jam, chutney, & pickles

Summer is overflowing with lovely, fresh fruits and vegetables. Learn how to preserve the harvest with jam, chutney, and pickles. We’ll make a simple jam recipe through a hands-on canning tutorial and sample homemade chutney and pickles. Each participant will leave with a jar of jam and all recipes.

On the menu: tomato jam, cucumber & apple chutney, pickled red onions
